3rd HDB BTO attempt = 8%
4th HDB BTO attempt = 5%
5th or more = 4%
Total = 65% applicants were first timers

May 2011 HDB BTO Second Timer:
(A “second-timer” refers to one who has previously bought an HDB flat directly from HDB or taken a CPF Housing Grant.)

1st HDB BTO attempt = 20%
2nd HDB BTO attempt = 7%
3rd HDB BTO attempt = 3%
4th HDB BTO attempt = 3%
5th or more = 2%
Total = 35% applicants were second timers

Among the first-timers, more than half applied under HDB’s Fiancé-Fiancée Scheme.

Their median age was 27.

As for the other first-timers (i.e. those already married), their median age was 34.

HDB is ramping up its roll out of new HDB BTO flats in 2011.

There are six new HDB BTO projects across the island of Singapore.

The new HDB BTO public residential housing flat projects are: Costa Ris and Golden
Lily in Pasir Ris, Punggol Parcvista, Tampines GreenLeaf, Tampines GreenWood
and Woodlands Peak.

These six new HDB BTO flats total 3,957 units of Studio Apartments, 2-, 3-, 4-
and 5-room Standard flats.

This is the largest supply of new HDB BTO flats in a single launch, surpassing
the supply of 3,185 new HDB BTO flats offered last month.

You can apply for new HDB BTO units online, for your choice town and flat type.

HDB is offering homebuyers close to 4,000 new flats in six BTO projects today - Costa Ris and Golden Lily in Pasir Ris, Punggol Parcvista, Tampines GreenLeaf, Tampines GreenWood, and Woodlands Peak.

This is the largest supply of BTO flats in a single launch, surpassing the 3,185 BTO flats offered last month. At least 95% of the public flat supply will be set aside for first-time buyers.

A WIDE RANGE OF FLATS FOR ALL BUDGETS

Today’s launch offers flats in various locations and sizes to meet the different needs of home-seekers – low-income families, those aspiring for something better, and the elderly.

First-time buyers can take advantage of various housing grants to reduce the cost of owning a new BTO flat. For instance, households earning up to $5,000 per month can apply for the Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG) worth up to $40,000, which can be used to offset the initial downpayment.

Over and above the AHG, first-timer families earning between $1,501 and $2,250 monthly can also apply for the Special CPF Housing Grant (SHG) if they choose to buy a 3-room standard flat in Punggol Parcvista and Woodlands Peak.
